Privacy
Bush Map Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
Bush Map is a hunting map for Ontario, built for personal use by Jordan Rossman and friends. This policy explains what the app collects and why.
Account information
To use Bush Map you create an account with your email address, a password, and optionally your name. Accounts are handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which stores your email, name and an account ID. Passwords are never visible to us. When an account is created, the developer receives a notification containing the name and email so he knows who has joined.
Your location
Bush Map uses your device's location to show where you are and to look up the land you're standing on. To answer those questions the app sends map coordinates (not your identity) to public data services: Ontario's Land Information Ontario map servers, municipal and county parcel servers, Regrid and CGIS parcel tile services, map imagery providers (Esri, OpenTopoMap) and Open-Meteo for weather. If you record a track, it is stored only on your device unless you choose to share it.
Pins, tracks and offline maps
Waypoints, recorded tracks and downloaded map areas are stored on your device. They are not uploaded to us. You can share them yourself as GPX files or links.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no ad tracking.
- No selling or renting of your information.
- No analytics SDKs.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Map Layers → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account from Firebase. Data stored on your phone is removed when you delete the app.
Children
Bush Map is not directed to children under 13.
